Many years ago, in fact when I was but a boy, my father’s newspaper had a little cartoon called “LOVE IS”.
Two little cartoon cherubs appeared in a daily illustration which may be touching, perhaps amusing, maybe a little melancholy.
You may remember it.
I am sure Kim’s cartoons were popular with many people wordwide but they were torture to a Yorkshire schoolboy. Because they didn’t have any lasers or spacemen in.
Times, we know, have moved on.
But just as much as an attempt to understand what love is, isn’t it equally important to think about what love isn’t…?

Q & A
After 4 years development and and artwork, the Love Isn’t deck is ready.
The decks are cellophane sealed and come in a glossy printed cardboard tuck box.
Love Isn’t ….I mean… IS a British Brand. After looking at the Chinese supply model which seems to be so commonplace, I have chosen to print and manufacture all our cards, decks and future “Love Isn’t…” products in England.
Fifty two cartoons based on thoughts on love in the modern world – with a hidden armchair puzzle for the more avid puzzler.
Absolutely not.
I seriously do not expect many people to attempt the puzzle. Attention spans are pretty short nowadays and that is fine. Riddles are not everybody’s cup of tea. Not everyone is an armchair Indiana Jones. Most will just enjoy the cards at face value. They reward on multiple layers without needing to engage with the hidden subtext. Most will never know it is there. The mystery element will be interpreted as simply that of messages of love. Surely enough in itself. But for those that do, l will be monitoring the progress of the challenge and perhaps offering a modest prize.
